WALTHAM, Mass. -- Bentley University infielder Logan Gillis (Merrimack, N.H./Lawrence Academy) has been named the inaugural Batter of the Week in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England, a first-year league that debuted on June 9.
Playing for the Nashua Silver Knights, Gillis hit .412 in four games with seven hits, four runs scored, a double, three RBI and four stolen bases. Included was a four-hit effort against the Martha's Vineyard Sharks.
Gillis earned second-team All-Northeast-10 honors this past spring while splitting time between second base and shortstop for the Bentley Falcons. He led the team in hitting with a .313 average, reached base in 40 of 44 games, and counted 14 doubles amongst his team-best 56 hits.
A transfer from Northeastern University, Gillis was third on the club in RBI with 26, and he also scored 21 runs.
