Bentley University senior running back Bobby Tarr (Byfield/Bishop Fenwick HS) has been selected for the 2012 Nason Award for Senior Achievement by the New England Football Writers. Tarr will be recognized on Thursday, Dec. 6 when the NEFW holds its annual Captains and Awards Banquet at the Montvale Plaza in Stoneham. The Nason Award has been presented annually since 1958 to the senior who has persevered against all odds to succeed in football.

Six Bentley Players Selected for All-Northeast-10 Football Team
Five members of the 8-2 Bentley University Falcons have been selected to the All-Northeast-10 Conference football first team, including repeat honoree and left tackle Nick Halloran (Somerville/BB&N School). Joining Halloran on the first team was sophomore wide receiver Jeff Hill (Mansfield/Mansfield HS) and three members of the Falcons’ nationally-ranked defense: junior linebacker Blaine Hopwood (New Bedford/New Bedford HS), senior defensive end Matt Campo (Dedham/Catholic Memorial HS) and senior safety Steve Hopkins (Waltham/Waltham HS).

Guadagnoli, Tarr Spark 2nd-Half Comeback as Bentley Wins 8th, 20-13 over Assumption
Junior Danny Guadagnoli (Framingham/Framingham HS) threw three TD passes in the final 15:15, including a go-ahead 54-yard screen to senior tailback Bobby Tarr (Byfield/ Bishop Fenwick HS) midway through the fourth, as Bentley University scored 20 unanswered points to best visiting Assumption College, 20-13, Saturday afternoon at Bentley.

After Success in Opener, Bentley Headed for West Virginia in Search of #2
Week one of the 2012 Bentley University football season turned out to be a rather one-sided affair, with the Falcons rolling to a 42-0 Northeast-10 Conference win over visiting Pace University. Week two projects to be a much more competitive game with fourth-year head coach Thom Boerman taking his team more than 650 miles for a non-conference encounter with West Virginia Wesleyan. The Bobcats edged the Falcons last year in Waltham, 28-23, and Bentley will be looking to return the favor Saturday when the two programs meet for just the second time. Kickoff is slated for 12 noon.
