Fans of Waltham football who make it over to Bentley University for a game or two this fall are going to see a lot of familiar faces on the field and the sidelines for the Falcons.
The Bentley preseason roster featured six former Waltham High standouts and one from Arlington Catholic when the team took the field for the first practice of the year on Sunday. Bentley head coach Thom Boerman said on Wednesday that as many as three former Hawks could be in the starting lineup when it opens up against Pace University at home on Aug. 31.
Safeties Don and Steve Hopkins – who have formed a dominant duo in the defensive backfield for parts of the past four seasons - are both back for their fifth year of eligibility, and Boerman said he has sophomore Brad Keirstead penciled in as a starting cornerback early in camp.
