    Senior quarterback Mack Lowrie (Foxborough/Roxbury Latin HS) threw five touchdown passes, including three to freshman wide receiver Austin Ryan (Foxborough/Foxborough HS), and junior safety Nick Athy (Holliston/Holliston HS) was involved in four of his team’s six takeaways as Bentley University celebrated Homecoming by stunning LIU Post, the ninth-ranked team in Division II, 40-21 in Northeast-10 Conference football Saturday afternoon.

    On September 23, 1972, what was then Bentley College played its first football game of the modern era, a club game at Western New England College that finished in a 6-6 tie. On the 45th anniversary of that debut game, Bentley University will celebrate Homecoming 2017 with the Falcons looking for their third straight win as they take on nationally-ranked LIU Post with kickoff set for 2 pm.

    Junior Nick Athy (Holliston/Holliston HS), sophomores Quintin McDermott (Franklin/Milton Academy) and classmate Derek Perkins (Milton/Milton HS) all made interceptions in the end zone to lead Bentley University to a 17-7 win over Merrimack College in Northeast-10 Conference football at humid Mejail-Martone Field Saturday afternoon.
  • Bentley Visits Merrimack Saturday in Search of 2nd Straight Win

    Since 2010, the Bentley University Falcons and the Merrimack College Warriors have squared off on the gridiron eight times with each team having won four. There have been close games and lop-sided ones, with the last two falling into the latter category. Bentley won at home last fall, 41-22, after the Warriors prevailed 41-10 in 2015 in the Falcons’ last visit to North Andover. The two programs will renew acquaintances on Saturday at Merrimack’s Martone-Mejail Field with both clubs looking to improve to 2-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action.     Sophomore quarterback Paul Dooley (Philadelphia, Pa.) threw three TD passes in the first two-and-a-half quarters, covering 38, 21 and 10 yards, as West Chester University took care of Bentley University, 51-9, in non-conference college football Thursday night at John Farrell stadium. It was the season-opener for both clubs.
