    After his team erased a 20-0 halftime deficit, sophomore Austin Stefano (Wethersfield, Conn.) drilled a 40-yard field goal in the first overtime session to give visiting Pace University a 23-20 victory over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon.

    The Bentley University Falcons had their most productive offensive game of the young season on Saturday, scoring 30 points and amassing 376 yards total offense, but three costly turnovers resulted in the team dropping a 35-30 Homecoming Day decision to Merrimack College. That offense will be put to the test Saturday when the Falcons (1-2, 1-1 Northeast-10) travel to Brookville, N.Y. to take on 2-0 LIU Post in a 1 pm game at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.

    Through the first seven quarters this season, the Bentley University Falcons had been kept out of the end zone and had managed only three field goals. That changed rapidly in the opening minute of the fourth, with two TDs in a span of 18 seconds, and Bentley (1-1, 1-0 NE10) went on to stun Southern Connecticut State, 24-22, in Northeast-10 Conference football action Friday afternoon on Jess Dow Field

    Sophomore wide receiver Rasheem James (Philadelphia, Pa.) caught two passes from redshirt-junior QB A.J. Long (Bethlehem, Pa.) during a 27-point second quarter, and Long accounted for a total of four TDs, as West Chester University shot past Bentley University, 44-6, in non-conference season-opening football Thursday evening at Bentley.
