WALTHAM, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference men's and women's basketball doubleheader between the Bentley University Falcons and the Stonehill College Skyhawks, scheduled for Wednesday February 6, has been selected to be a part of the NCAA Division II Showcase.
The women's game is scheduled for a 5:35 pm tip and the men's contest will follow at 7:35 pm.
Division II selected a total of 24 games as part of the Showcase and will add four more key doubleheaders to the schedule next month to air as part of the package.
Both contests will be part of the division's hybrid model, meaning it can be distributed on TV or online. Live streams will also be available via the NCAA social media accounts – specifically Division II Facebook (facebook.com/ncaadivisionii) and Twitter (@NCAADII) – and will be carried on the Northeast-10 Conference's digital network, NE10 NOW.
"We are excited for the second half of the basketball season and look forward to featuring the accomplishments of Division II basketball student-athletes," said Terri Steeb Gronau, vice president of Division II. "Fans will continue to watch talented student-athletes who make a difference in the classroom and in their communities."
Combined, the Bentley and Stonehill basketball teams have won 48 of 59 games thus far this season. They played a doubleheader at Stonehill back in November and the Bentley Falcons came away with a sweep, 70-54 (women) and 84-71 (men).
Both Bentley teams were ranked tenth in Division II entering this week's action. The Falcon men are riding a six-game winning streak that has boosted the team's record to 14-1. The Bentley women lead the NE10's Northeast Division and are 13-2 overall.
Stonehill's records are 11-3 (women) and 10-5 (men).
