Bentley Earns All-Academic Honors from Golf Coaches Association of America

The Northeast-10 champs also excel in the classroom

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University Falcons were selected for All-Academic honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America for their success in the classroom during the 2011-12 academic year.

The Falcons, who had a 3.40 team GPA, were one of only two Division II East Region teams recognized, with Post University the other, and the only Northeast-10 Conference team to earn the honor, which is presented by Farmers Insurance.

Bentley also won the Northeast-10 Team Excellence Award for golf and had three of the five representatives on the 2012 Academic All-NE-10 golf team: Matt Michel (Danvers/Danvers HS), Dan McQueen (Topsfield/Masconomet Reg. HS) and Harry Kirkpatrick (Lancaster/Nashoba Reg.).

Bentley's season on the course included winning both the Northeast-10 and New England Intercollegiate Golf Association championships, the latter for the first time ever, and making a second straight trip to the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Super Regional.
