WALTHAM, Mass.- The Bentley hockey team has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 season. The slate features 34 games, with 28 against their Atlantic Hockey rivals, and six coming against non-conference opponents.
The Falcons will begin the season on Tuesday, October 10 against American International in Springfield. That's followed by the only series of the season against rival Holy Cross on the weekend of Oct. 20, in Worcester at the Hart Center. Bentley hasn't played in that building since February of the 2014-15 season.
The Falcons will then play their home opener at the JAR against Mercyhurst on Friday, Oct. 27 as part of a weekend series.
The team's first non-conference game comes against Merrimack away on Nov. 10. That game is sandwiched between road series at Niagara and Canisius to make a five-game road trip to start November. They return home to face Robert Morris for a series the weekend of Nov. 24, before closing out the month with a non-conference road game at Hockey East's UMass-Lowell on Nov. 28.
December is highlighted by non-conference road games against Brown (Dec. 6) and Dartmouth (Dec. 9), both members of the ECAC.
Bentley will again play a home-and-home series with Northeastern for the third straight season. That series kicks off the second half of the year on the weekend of Jan. 5, with the first game being at home. The Falcons will also travel to Army West Point the weekend of Jan. 12 for a two-game series.
February starts with a weekend series at RIT on Feb. 2 and 3. The Falcons will then close out the regular season on a five-game home stand. Air Force visits the weekend of Feb. 9, followed by a series against Army the weekend of Feb. 16. The regular season ends on Saturday, Feb. 24 with a single game against AIC.
The Atlantic Hockey playoffs get started on March 2, and culminate the weekend of March 16 in Rochester, N.Y.
