Falcons Roll on With Sweep of Saint Michael’s

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team won its four straight match and its third straight in the Northeast-10 with a 9-0 sweep of Saint Michael's Sunday afternoon at the Bentley tennis courts.

The Falcons improve to 7-0 in the NE-10 (11-4 overall), and they've swept each of their last three matches. The victory keeps Bentley in a tie for first-place with So. New Hampshire, which won today, and Merrimack, which plays later. The Purple Knights fall to 4-4 overall and 3-4 in conference matches.

The Falcons set the tone for the day with a commanding performance in doubles, headlined by senior Zach Tuckman (Kinnelon, N.J./Morristown Beard School) and junior Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) blanking Nick Bosco and Eric Parziale in the first-flight, 8-0.

In singles, junior Lucas Wever (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) dominated Bosco in the top-flight, 6-1, 6-0. Tuckman and Ribeiro had a similarly easy time with their opponents, as Tuckman beat Parziale 6-1, 6-1 in the second-flight, and Ribeiro handled Sam Cieplicki 6-2, 6-2 in the third-flight.

Sophomores Jimmy Rindo (Lowell, Mass./Lowell and Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) and senior Alec Spycher (Sarasota, Fla./Saint Stephens Episcopal) were the other winners in singles.

The Falcons will look to make it five in a row overall and four straight in the NE-10 when they host Adelphi next Friday at 3:00 p.m.
