WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior men's tennis player Jimmy Rindo (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) was named the Northeast-10 Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. It's the second time in his career he has earned the award.
Rindo helped the Falcons get off to a 2-0 start in Northeast-10 play last week, posting two wins each in matches against Franklin Pierce and Saint Anselm.
His week started with a three-set victory in No. 1 singles against Franklin Pierce's Patrick Gilhuly. He rallied after dropping the first set for a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 triumph. He teamed with sophomore Kamil Pilch (Wroclaw, Poland/IMG Pendleton) in No. 1 doubles for an 8-2 win over Gilhuly and Chris Brewer in the same match.
Two days later against Saint Anselm, Rindo competed in No. 2 singles and dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Aidan Roach. In doubles he teamed with sophomore Sam Frye (Redlands, Calif./Redlands) for an 8-0 win in the No. 3 spot over Chris Parent and Peter O'Connell.
Rindo and the Falcons are back in action this weekend at the Quinnipiac Invitational.
