Five Players Win Twice in Bentley’s 8-1 Win over Nichols

Dudley, Mass. – Five different players won both of their matches on the day in leading the Bentley men's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over Nichols on Thursday.

Bentley won all three doubles matches, and five of six in singles, to cruise to the 8-1 win in its first dual match of the fall season.

Seniors Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) and Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah), junior Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and sophomores Daniel Weitz (Roslyn N.Y./Roslyn) and Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) all won twice on the day.

Highlights saw Weitz defeat Blake Norton 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles match, and Fuca outlast Brandon Howard in three sets in No. 3, 2-6, 7-6, 10-7 in No. 3. Aulson claimed a 6-3, 6-4 win over Sebastian Penaloza in No. 4, while Gilman defeated Jack Donaldson 7-6, 6-2 in No. 5. Au cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win over Peter Coletti in No. 6.

Bentley will go for its second straight win tomorrow when they host Eastern Nazarene.
