BOSTON, Mass. – Three members of the Bentley University men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed in the Boston University Last Chance Meet Sunday at the BU Track and Tennis Center, and each one came away with a new personal best.
Freshman Eric Beckwith (North Attleboro/North Attleboro HS) bettered his previous best in the shot put by five-and-a-half inches with a throw of 47 feet, 0.75 inches. That put him fifth of seven in the event.
Junior Steve Maffiolini (Southington, Conn./Southington HS) was 12th of 22 in the 200 meters with his time of 23.02 an improvement of 0.28 seconds over his previous best. It also moved him to 13th on Bentley's all-time list. Maffiolini also competed in the 400, placing 15th of 22 in 50.83.
Senior Taren Kershaw (Revere/Revere HS) moved into a tie for fifth on Bentley's all-time list in the 200 with her time of 27.22 a PR by 0.18 seconds. She finished 12th of 17 in her final career indoor meet.
