Kasson Named to Academic All-Northeast-10 Softball Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University shortstop Stephanie Kasson (Hyde Park, N.Y./Franklin D. Roosevelt HS) has been selected to the 2011 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference softball team.

Kasson had an outstanding sophomore season for the Falcons, leading the team in hitting at .362 while playing every inning at the all-important shortstop position. Her play earned her a spot on the All-Conference third team.

In addition to having the club's best batting average, the slap hitter topped Bentley in hits (46), runs (25), total bases (50), slugging percentage (.394), on base percentage (.386), stolen bases (12 in as many attempts) and assists (84).  Kasson reached base 43 percent of the time when leading off an inning and hit a solid .359 with runners on base.

Kasson raised her batting average 81 points over her freshman year and the Falcons were 10-4 when she had two or more hits.

In the classroom, the accountancy major has earned an impressive 3.70 grade point average. She's been on the President's List twice and the Dean's List twice.
