  • Bentley Looks for 25th Double-Digit Win Streak of Stevens’ Era While Celebrating Pink Day & Senior Day

    There have been 24 double-digit winning streaks during Barbara Stevens’ 33 years as Bentley University’s women’s basketball coach, including one of 12 games to start the current season. Stevens and her team will be looking to push that count to 25 on Saturday when they host Saint Anselm College at 1:30 pm at the Dana Center. Prior to the contest, the Falcons will celebrate Senior Day and it will also be the team’s Annual Pink Day game as they’ll be raising money to fight cancer.     Bentley University’s Barbara Stevens, the fourth winningest coach in NCAA women’s basketball history with 1,033 career victories, has been named one of 13 finalists for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield. The announcement was made during a press conference late Friday afternoon during the NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, N.C.

    Since 1980, the Bentley University women’s basketball program has amassed 33 20-win seasons, with 29 of those coming during Hall of Fame coach Barbara Stevens’ first 32 seasons at the helm. Stevens and Bentley will be looking to add to that total Wednesday night when the 19-2 Falcons square off against Stonehill College at the Dana Center as part of the NCAA Division II Showcase. The 110th meeting between the two programs is scheduled for a 5:35 pm tip-off.
