Walsh, Edwards & Denehy Honored by Northeast-10
The Northeast-10 Conference announced its postseason swimming and diving awards with two Bentley University student-athletes among those receiving hardware for their achievements during the 2011-12 season. Senior Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay HS) was named the conference’s Men’s Diver of the Year and freshman Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) was selected by the NE-10 coaches as the Women’s Rookie of the Year. In addition, Rick Danehy was recognized as the Men’s Diving Coach of the Year for the third time in four years.

Five Members of Bentley Swim Teams Earn Academic All-Northeast-10 Honors
Five members of the Bentley University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams, including three-time honoree and co-captain Joe Frantel (Canandaigua, N.Y./Marcus Whitman HS), were named to the 2011-12 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference team for swimming. Also recognized were seniors Chris Argiros (Marblehead/Marblehead HS) and Matt Wessels (Epsom, N.H./Bishop Brady HS), junior Abby Mathews (Chelmsford/ Chelmsford HS) and sophomore Caroline Lewis (Westfield/Westfield HS).

Hodsdon Completes Trip to NCAA Championships with 28th Place in 200 Breast
Bentley University’s Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) completed her junior year by placing 28th in the 200 yard breaststoke during the final day of competition in the 2012 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium Saturday.

Bentley University junior Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) finished 25th in the 100 yard breaststroke Friday morning at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium during day three of the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships.

Bentley University junior All-America Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/ Brewer HS) finished 34th in the 100 yard butterfly Thursday morning in the NCAA Division II Swimming Championships at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium.

Sophomore Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn.) and senior Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay HS) represented Bentley University Tuesday when the NCAA Division II pre-qualifying diving meet was held at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium.

Bentley University junior George Go (Manila, Philippines) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, and the conference’s Rookie of the Week Awards went to Bentley freshmen Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) and Connor Mulvey-Hudson (Ardmore, Pa./St. Joseph’s Prep).

Junior All-America Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) and freshman Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) each made two trips to the top of the medal platform Saturday night, helping the Bentley University women extend their lead over Keene State to 80 points after the second day of the competition at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships to 80 points.

Sophomore Amy Shin (Lancaster/Nashoba Reg. HS) won two events and ten teammates also turned in winning individual efforts as the Bentley University women’s swim team swam to a 185-93 win at Bridgewater State University Tuesday night at Bridgewater’s Dr. Mary Jo Moriarty Pool.

Keene State captured 13 of 16 events to hand the Bentley University women’s swimming and diving team its first loss in two years, 155-136. The Falcons had entered the meet with 18 consecutive dual meet victories.

Sophomore Caroline Lewis (Westfield, Mass./Westfield HS) captured both backstroke events and ten teammates also recorded individual victories as the Bentley University women’s swim team returned from a 33-day holiday and exam break to best host Plymouth State University, 175-104, Friday afternoon.

The Bentley University women’s swimming team won its third dual meet of the year and 14th in a row overall by beating UMass-Dartmouth 163-67 Wednesday night. Eight different swimmers won individual races for the Falcons, and they also won both relay and diving events.

Bentley Women Use Team Effort to Swim Past Le Moyne, 153-132
Seven different athletes won individual events as the Bentley University women’s swimming and diving team opened its dual meet schedule with a 153-132 win over Le Moyne College Saturday afternoon at the Henniger Athletic Complex Ryan Pool. The victory was the 13th straight for the Falcons, dating back to January 2010.
