Bentley Volleyball Receives AVCA Team Academic Award for 4th Straight Year

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University women's volleyball team is one of 118 Division II programs from across the country that earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2016-17 season. It's the fourth straight year that the Falcons have been recognized. It's the fourth straight year that the Falcons have been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Over 820 teams, from all levels of volleyball, received the award this year. It honors collegiate and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the academic year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average.

Thirteen of the 15 players on the 2016 Bentley roster finished the academic year with cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or better, with nine at 3.3 or better.

Coach Joey Pacis' team opens the 2017 season Sept. 1-2 by hosting the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament. Participating teams are Caldwell, Mercy, Southern New Hampshire and Wilmington.
