WINTER PARK, Fla. – Rollins College scored two unearned runs in the seventh to reverse a one-run Falcon lead and went on to record a 4-3 win over Bentley University in non-conference college baseball Saturday afternoon at Alfond Stadium.

Bentley crammed all its scoring into the fourth inning, which started with consecutive singles by junior shortstop Zachary Littman (Abington, Mass./Abington HS) and left fielder Kevin Foley (Southbury, Conn./ Pomperaug HS). Freshman designated hitter Nick Neshe (Waltham, Mass./Waltham HS) drew a bases-loaded walk, Foley scored on a sacrifice fly by junior catcher Bryan Rocha (Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth HS) and senior center fielder Mike Muir (Bridgewater, Mass./Xaverian Bros. HS) picked up an RBI with another bases-loaded walk.

Rollins (4-4) cut the deficit in half with a single run in the fifth inning. Senior left fielder Christian Coburn (Windemere, Fla.) walked on a full count, stole both second and third and scored on a two-out wild pitch.

Coburn got it started in the seventh as well, reaching on an infield single. A ball off the bat senior DH Blake Hutton (Orlando, Fla.) was thrown away with Coburn scoring all the way from first and Hutton advancing to third. Junior Carlos Garmendia (Miami, Fla.) followed with a single to left, plating Hutton with what proved to be the winning run.

The loss spoiled a solid pitching effort by Bentley grad student Scott Lueders (Mansfield, Mass./Newton South HS) with the righty allowing only three hits and two runs. He walked three and struck out five.

Rollins received five strong innings of relief from senior right-hander Spencer Mumford (Boca Raton, Fla.). He gave up just one hit and one walk while striking out four.

Bentley's six hits included three by Foley and two by Littman. Junior right fielder Skip Kovar (Maitland, Fla.) had two of Rollins' seven hits.

Bentley (0-5) and Rollins will conclude the three-game series Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.
