WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore guard Jason Mello-Klein (Sharon/Thayer Academy) led six double-figure scorers with 17 points as the Bentley University men's basketball team rolled to a 98-53 exhibition win over Bishop's University (Canada) in an exhibition game at the Dana Center Thursday night.
The rest of the starting five also scored in doubles with senior forward Zach Gilpin (Hampden, Maine/Hampden Academy) netting 15, senior guard Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Thomson Collegiate) and sophomore guard Colton Lawrence (Myerstown, Pa./ECHO HS) 13 apiece and junior forward Chris Hudson (Hodgdon, Maine/Williston-Northampton School) 11.
Bentley also received 14 points off the bench from junior guard Seth Stankiewicz (Reading, Pa./ The Hill School).
The Falcons, who led 50-33 at the half, shot 57 percent overall and knocked down 13 three-pointers. Meanwhile, they limited the Gaiters to 34 percent and six treys.
Bentley will open the regular season Nov. 10-11 with the annual Bentley Tip-Off Classic.
