WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley's Max French (West Kelowna, B.C/West Kelowna) was chosen as the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday. French totaled six points in Bentley's series with Army West Point. It's the second time in his career he's earned the weekly award.
French spearheaded Bentley's comeback from 2-0 down Saturday at West Point as they earned a 2-2 draw. With the Falcons trailing 2-0 entering the 3rd period, he scored a power play goal at the 4:02 mark to cut the deficit to one goal. He then scored on an impressive individual effort a little over three minutes later to knot the game up.
In Sunday's 6-2 win over the Black Knights at the Barclays Center, he had a four point game on one goal and three assists. He gave Bentley a 2-1 lead late in the 1st period with a power play goal, while also notching one assist in each period. Sunday's effort was his 2nd career game with at least four points.
French is the second Bentley player this season to be named Player of the Week, after Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo) was tabbed on Oct. 20.
The Falcons are back in action Wednesday night when they host Hockey East's Merrimack.
