WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior Sydney Hurwitz (Newton/Newton North HS) led the Bentley University women's indoor track team during Saturday's Reggie Poyau Memorial at Brandeis University with her performance including a victory in the 60 meter hurdles.

Hurwitz captured the hurdles in 9.46 seconds, edging sophomore teammate Chase Davies (Marblehead/ Marblehead HS), a transfer from St. Lawrence, by five-hundredths of a second. A total of 19 competed in the event. Davies' time elevated her to a tie for second on Bentley's all-time list in the event, behind Hurwitz' school record of 9.28, set last year.

Hurwitz' day also included placing third of 25 in the long jump (16'5.75" and ninth of 49 in the 200 meters (27.87 seconds). Davies was also eighth of 41 in the 60 hurdles (8.35) and ninth of 14 in the high jump (4'75").

Also in the 60, senior Dom Balzora-Rivert (Templeton/Narragansett Reg. HS) was fifth of 41 with times of 8.26 in the prelims and 8.32 in the finals.

Freshman Audrey Christo (Belmont/Belmont HS) finished fifth of 25 in the mile (5:34.41) while senior Chantel Lewis (Bronx, N.Y./Manhattan Center for Science and Math) was eighth of 25 in the 400 (1:04.91).
