LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Bentley University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches, including a five-setter to finish the tournament, as the Georgian Court Invitational concluded Saturday at the GCU Wellness Center. The Falcons fell to defending NCAA Division II East Regional champion NYIT in three sets in the morning and lost to Caldwell University 3-2 in the afternoon.

In Bentley's first match of the day, the Falcons fell to an undefeated team for the second time in the tournament as NYIT prevailed by scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-21 to improve to 7-0.

Junior setter Allison Fowler (Centennial, Colo.) led the way for the Bears, contributing 12 digs, three aces, four blocks and five  kills to go along with 27 assists. Among those on the receiving ends of her sets were sophomore outside hitter Tiffany Verni (Patchogue, N.Y.) and junior outside hitter Karolina Moderova (Zalesie, Slovakia), with 12 and 13 kills, respectively.

Freshman outside hitter Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhill School), Bentley's lone representative on the All-Tournament Team, had her fifth double-double of the young season for the Falcons as she filled the stat sheet with 10 kills, 12 digs and two aces. Junior Isabella Perez (Lafayette, Calif./Carondelet HS) led Bentley in digs with 14 and also served an ace.

As happened in Friday's match against unbeaten West Chester, Bentley captured the first two sets against Caldwell before falling in five. The Falcons, after going up 2-0 with 27-25 and 25-18 wins, were handled by the Cougars in the next three, 25-19, 25-17 and 15-11.

Junior outside hitter Shannon Kelly (Hyde Park, N.Y./Franklin D. Roosevelt HS), Milner and senior setter Allie Rotkin (Cumming, Ga./Milton HS) all had double-doubles for Bentley. Kelly finished with 14 kills and 18 digs, Milner followed with 12 kills and 16 digs, and Rotkin totaled 44 assists and ten digs.

Bentley, 1-7, will remain on the road for a tournament at Merrimack College Friday and Saturday.  Opponents there will include nationally-ranked Nebraska-Kearney.
