GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – All three sets were decided by the minimum as Adelphi University swept Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Saturday afternoon at the Center for Recreation and Sport. The scores were 25-23, 27-25 and 25-23.

The difficult loss in the regular season finale dropped the Falcons to 11-17 overall and 7-7 in the NE10 and ended the Falcons' hopes of qualifying for the conference championship tournament.

After an opening set that Adelphi (25-5, 12-2 NE10) led most of the way, the second set was a dogfight that was tied six times late, beginning at 20-20, before the Panthers collected the final two points. Just as she had in the first, junior (Barcelona, Spaine ) ended it with a kill.

In the third, Bentley had leads of 21-18 and 22-20 before Adelphi closed with a 6-1 run. Match point came on an ace served by freshman Grace Wegmann (El Dorado Hills, Calif.).

Sophomore Kirsten Segaline (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain HS) led Bentley in kills with 13 and junior Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) followed with nine, along with a .471 hitting percentage. She wrapped the season with a .370 success rate, currently the best in the conference.

Junior libero Emily Buchanan (Buchanan, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson HS) led the Falcons with 16 digs and setter Krista Campbell (Newtown, Pa./Council Rocks North HS), the team's only senior, had 35 assists in her final collegiate match.

Bisbe powered Adelphi, the second-ranked team in the East, with 17 kills and Wegmann provided 39 assists and 10 digs.
