The second season for the Bentley University men’s basketball team will begin Friday night when the Falcons host Assumption College in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Conference playoffs. Tip-off at the Dana Center is 7 pm.

Senior Dipanjot Singh (Evanston, Ill.), a transfer from Illinois-Chicago, erupted for 27 points, including 15 in the first half to keep his team close, as UMass-Lowell overcame a five-point halftime deficit to defeat visiting Bentley University, 85-76, in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball Tuesday night at Costello Gym. It was the regular season finale for both clubs.

Senior guard Andre Tongo (Acton) and junior guard Brian Hamor (Guilderland, N.Y.) combined for 32 points, with each connecting three times beyond the three-point line, as Stonehill College shot down Bentley University, 81-55, in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center. It was the final home game of the regular season for the Falcons.

When Bentley University and Stonehill College last squared off in men’s basketball, the Bentley Falcons overcame an 18-point second-half deficit and eventually pulled out a 73-66 double-overtime victory on the road. The two clubs will renew acquaintances on Saturday at Bentley’s Dana Center, with tip-off for the Falcons’ final home game of the regular season set for 3:30 pm.

Forwards Ellis Cooper (Northampton) and Ryen Vilmont (Philadelphia, Pa.) combined for 37 points, including 25 in the second half, as Franklin Pierce University topped Bentley University 78-58 in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball Tuesday night at the Dana Center.

With the regular season quickly winding down, the Bentley University men’s basketball team will be back in the Dana Center Tuesday night, looking to improve on its playoff seeding when it hosts Franklin Pierce University at 7:30 pm.

Strong starts to each half by Southern New Hampshire University propelled the Penmen to a 76-66 win over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball Saturday afternoon at the SNHU Fieldhouse and gave the Falcons their first three-game losing streak in two years.

After suffering back-to-back losses for the first time in a year, the Bentley University men’s basketball team will make its third attempt at win number 16 Saturday afternoon when the Falcons visit Southern New Hampshire University. Tip-off at the SNHU Gymnasium is scheduled for 3:30 pm.

Bentley University senior guard Sam Leclerc (Fayette, Maine/Winthrop HS) scored 23 of his game-high 28 points in the second half, but St, Michael’s College escaped with the win, 66-64, on a tip-in by senior forward Tyler Schilling (Excelsior, Minn.) with eight seconds left in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball action at the Ross Sports Center Wednesday night.

One of the strengths of this year’s Bentley University men’s basketball team has been its ability to quickly get back on the winning track following a loss. A Falcon victory in the ensuing game has followed each of the team’s first five losses. Coach Jay Lawson’s team will again be looking to avoid dropping back-to-back games when it makes the trek to Colchester, Vt. to take on St. Michael’s College Wednesday night (7:30 pm).

Freshman guard Roy Mabrey (Belmar, N.J.) scored 26 points, including 14 in the first 8:36, and sophomore forward Allen Harris (Roslindale) had four points and two blocks during a late 9-0 run as Saint Anselm College got by Bentley University, 81-75, in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center.

Had a buzzer-beating three-point attempt been on the mark Wednesday night at Le Moyne, the Bentley University men’s basketball team would have been in a three-way tie at the top of the very congested Northeast-10 Conference standings. Instead, the Falcons are a game back of co-leaders Adelphi University and Stonehill College, in a four-way tie for third place. Coach Jay Lawson’s team will look to get back on the winning track Saturday when the Falcons host Southern Connecticut State at the Dana Center at 3:30 pm in the first of a three-game homestand.
