Two game-tying free throws by junior guard John Calarco (New Rochelle, N.Y.) ignited a game-ending 10-0 run and two more by senior guard Richard Harkins (Bellmore, N.Y.) gave Adelphi University back the lead as the Panthers rallied for a 64-56 win over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball Tuesday night at the Dana Center.

Ties abound in the Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball standings with two teams tied for first, three tied for both third and sixth place, and five tied for ninth place. All told, only three games separate the conference’s top 13 teams at the midpoint of the NE-10 schedule. The tie for the top spot will be broken Tuesday night when the two co-leaders, Bentley University and Adelphi University, square off for the only time during the regular season. Tip-off at Bentley’s Dana Center is 7:30 pm.

A year ago, the Bentley University Falcons and the College of Saint Rose Golden Knights were amongst the best men’s basketball teams in the NCAA Division II East Regional with Bentley reaching the regional final after downing Saint Rose in the semis. The only meeting of the regular season between the two teams will take place Saturday afternoon when the Falcons host the Golden Knights at the Dana Center. Tip-off is slated for 3:30 pm.
