OVERVIEW

Founded in 2001, Bentley Men’s Rugby is a competitive and tight-knit club that competes at the Division III level in the New England Rugby Football Union (NERFU). Open to players of all backgrounds and experience levels, the team offers an incredible opportunity to learn the game, build lifelong friendships and compete at a high level.

The fall season features a traditional 15 vs 15 format, including five to six league matches against other schools in the region. Teams that qualify move on to the NERFU postseason playoff bracket, with a chance to compete for a spot in Nationals.

The spring season shifts to 7 vs 7 rugby, a fast-paced, tournament-style game played in single-day events across New England. This format gives the team the chance to travel, compete against unfamiliar teams and enjoy a lighter but consistent spring schedule.

Practices are held Tuesday and Thursday nights, typically from 6:45–8:45 PM on the Bentley Football Field. The team also occasionally hosts joint practices or scrimmages with other nearby schools, giving players additional opportunities to develop skills and game awareness.

Beyond its competitive edge, Bentley Rugby is set apart by its tight sense of camaraderie and profound alumni network that develops as a result. Whether it’s grinding through a tough practice, traveling together for matches or celebrating a big win, the team creates an environment where players grow as athletes, leaders, and friends for the rest of their lives.

No prior experience is required to join, just bring your work ethic and a willingness to be part of something bigger than yourself.
