It’s championship weekend for the Bentley University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams as the three-day Northeast-10 Conference Championships will be contested at Southern Connecticut State University Thursday through Saturday.

Freshman diver Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) topped a list of 11 members of the Bentley University swimming and diving team who were cited for the team’s performance in last week’s sweep of Bridgewater State University. Mancini was recognized as the NE-10 Women’s Rookie of the Week for the fifth time, including the fourth time in January, and also was selected for her fourth Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week award. Classmates Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS) and Owen Karl (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton HS) were also honored with Bridge the NE-10 Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week for the third time and Karl and NE-10 Men’s Rookie of the Week for the first.

On a night that the Bentley University seniors were being recognized, Falcon freshmen won nine of 14 individual events to power the men’s swimming team to a 145-128 victory over Bridgewater State Tuesday at the Dana Center pool.

Keene State College captured all 16 events en route to a 182-94 win over host Bentley University in men’s swimming and diving action Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center pool. The loss was the Falcons’ third straight after six consecutive wins to open the season.

Seven members of the Bentley University swimming and diving teams, including senior Abby Mathews (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) and freshman Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS), were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference this week for their performances in meets against St. Michael’s College and The College of Saint Rose.

The Babson College men’s swimming and diving team won its third straight dual meet and improved to 6-3 with a 140-83 victory over the Bentley University men’s team Wednesday night at the Dana Center pool.

Seniors Eric Howard and Joseph Krok each won three individual events as the College of Saint Rose handed the Bentley University Falcons their first loss of the season, 195-99, in men’s college swimming action Sunday afternoon at the Robison Pool on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Junior Steve Sylvia (Westerly, R.I./Westerly HS), sophomore Connor Mulvey-Hudson (Ardmore,Pa./St. Joseph’s Prep) and freshman Tim Connolly (Dorchester, Mass./Boston Latin Acad.) helped Bentley University capture the meet-opening 400 yard medley relay and each also won two individual events as the Falcon men’s swimming team returned from a month-long semester break to win at St. Michael’s College, 157-109, Wednesday afternoon at the Tarrant Recreation Center.

Freshmen Sebastian Bury (Bellevue, Wash./Newport Sr. HS) and Alex Liulakis (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly HS) each won three events as the Bentley University men’s swimming and diving team completed the 2012 portion of the schedule with a 172.5-102.5 victory over Norwich University Saturday afternoon at the Goodyear Pool.

The only winning performance by a member of the Bentley University men’s swimming and diving team during the two-day Pace Invitational was recorded by freshman diver Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS). The meet concluded Saturday afternoon at the Goldstein Athletics Center pool.

Freshman Owen Karl (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton HS) was a double-winner and seven others also had first-place finishes in individual events as the Bentley University men’s swimming team improved to 4-0 with a 132-73 win over UMass-Dartmouth Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center pool.

Bentley University senior George Go (Manila, Phillipines) has been named the Northeast-10 Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week and two of his freshmen teammates were also recognized by the conference following wins over both Gordon College and Brandeis University.

Senior George Go (Manila, Philippines) turned in winning performances in both the 100 yard backstroke and the 100 butterfly, and also participated on a first-place relay team, as Bentley University swam past Brandeis University, 149-103, in men’s college swimming Sunday afternoon at Brandeis.

Sophomore Luke Mason (Lowell/Lowell HS) won a pair of freestyle events and anchored the Falcons’ winning 200 yard medley relay team as Bentley University downed Gordon College, 134-76, in men’s college swimming at the Bennett Center pool Wednesday night.

Ten members of the Bentley University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference on Tuesday for their performance in Saturday’s sweep of Le Moyne College.

Down three points heading into the final relay, Bentley University took first and third in the meet-ending 200 yard freestyle relay to rally past visiting Le Moyne College, 148.5-142.5, in men’s college swimming at the Dana Center pool Saturday afternoon.
