The Bentley University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will begin the championship portion of their season Thursday when the three-day Northeast-10 Conference Championships get underway at Southern Connecticut State University.

Bentley University junior Abby Mathews (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) and a pair of Falcon freshmen, Danielle Hellstern (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS) and Josh Witty (Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos HS), have earned weekly recognition from the Northeast-10 Conference for their performance last Tuesday night against Bridgewater State University.

Sophomore Amy Shin (Lancaster/Nashoba Reg. HS) won two events and ten teammates also turned in winning individual efforts as the Bentley University women’s swim team swam to a 185-93 win at Bridgewater State University Tuesday night at Bridgewater’s Dr. Mary Jo Moriarty Pool.

Senior diver Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay HS) and freshman freestyler Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference Monday following record-breaking performances on Saturday.

Keene State captured 13 of 16 events to hand the Bentley University women’s swimming and diving team its first loss in two years, 155-136. The Falcons had entered the meet with 18 consecutive dual meet victories.

The Bentley University women’s swimming and diving team won its 18th straight dual meet, and seventh of the season, by defeating Babson College 127-104 Wednesday night.

Sophomore Amanda Le (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) posted a pair of individual victories and Bentley University dominated the diving events as the Falcons stayed undefeated with a 148-95 win over The College of Saint Rose in women’s college swimming Sunday afternoon at the Dana Center pool.

Sophomore Caroline Lewis (Westfield, Mass./Westfield HS) captured both backstroke events and ten teammates also recorded individual victories as the Bentley University women’s swim team returned from a 33-day holiday and exam break to best host Plymouth State University, 175-104, Friday afternoon.

Winning performances in four individual events and two relays, two pool records and three NCAA Division II “B” cut times. All in a day’s work for Bentley University junior All-America Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) while helping the Falcons capture the five-team Northeast-10 Invitational at Bentley’s Dana Center pool Sunday.

Former Bentley University swimmer Anne Kaduboski, the first All-America in the program’s history, will compete in the 200 meter butterfly Saturday at the 2011 AT&T Winter National Championships at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta.

Junior All-America Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) won two individual events and participated on a winning relay as the Bentley University women’s swimming team extended its dual winning streak to 15 with a 114-86 win over St. Michael’s College Saturday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley University senior Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay HS) and freshman Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Diving Athletes of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference after both qualified for the NCAA Division II Pre-Qualifying Meet during a dual meet with Gordon College Nov. 9.

The Bentley University women’s swimming team won its third dual meet of the year and 14th in a row overall by beating UMass-Dartmouth 163-67 Wednesday night. Eight different swimmers won individual races for the Falcons, and they also won both relay and diving events.

Senior Susie Boretti (Westford/Westford Academy) won two events and freshman diver Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships as the Bentley University women’s swimming and diving team posted a 186-80 win over Gordon College Wednesday night at the Dana Center.

The Bentley University women’s swimming team won two events on Saturday during the Betty Spears Relays at Wellesley College with junior All-America Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) and sophomore Amanda Le (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) involved in both.
