Bentley University senior Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) closed out a stellar collegiate career by finishing 12th in the 100 yard breaststroke Friday night during the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships at the CrossPlex Complex.

Freshman Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) became the first women’s diving All-America in Bentley University history by finishing eighth in the one-meter during the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships at the CrossPlex Complex Thursday night.

Bentley University senior diver Shelly D’Aleo (Enfield, Conn./Suffield Academy) and freshman teammate Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) survived a pre-qualification meet Tuesday at the CrossPlex Complex, earning the right to compete in the NCAA Division II Championships later this week. A total of 22 divers, from a field of 41, advanced.

Senior Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) and a quartet of divers will be making the trip to Birmingham, Ala. early next month to compete in the 2013 NCAA Division II Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships.

Freshman diver Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) topped a list of 11 members of the Bentley University swimming and diving team who were cited for the team’s performance in last week’s sweep of Bridgewater State University.

It’s championship weekend for the Bentley University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams as the three-day Northeast-10 Conference Championships will be contested at Southern Connecticut State University Thursday through Saturday.

After a record-setting week that included the first two 300+ scores in the program’s history, Bentley University freshman diver Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) has once again been cited by the Northeast-10 Conference. Mancini was named the NE-10 Women’s Rookie of the Week for the third straight week and fourth time overall, and she was also recognized as the NE-10 Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week for the third time.

Competing in the Dana Center pool for the final time, Bentley University All-America Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) celebrated senior night by winning two individual events and participating on a winning relay as the Falcons completed their dual schedule with a 157-119 victory over Bridgewater State Tuesday night.

Bentley University freshman diver Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/ Falmouth HS) broke both the school and pool records off both boards, recording the first two 300+ scores in program history, but despite her outstanding efforts, the Falcons dropped their first dual meet of the season, falling to visiting Keene State College, 155-139, in women’s swimming action at the Dana Center pool Saturday afternoon.

Seven members of the Bentley University swimming and diving teams, including senior Abby Mathews (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) and freshman Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS), were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference this week for their performances in meets against St. Michael’s College and The College of Saint Rose.
