Bentley Athletics introduced the Cindy Scott Cup in August 2026. Named after Bentley's long-time Assistant Athletics Director, the Cindy Scott Cup is bestowed to the Bentley team that excels in competition, in academics, in the community, and in supporting Bentley teams through the course of an academic year. The Cindy Scott Cup winning team receives $5,000 to use it sees fit.  

The Cindy Scott Cup stands as a lasting tribute to the extraordinary legacy Scott left on Bentley Athletics. Everything shevalued, from competitive excellence and school pride to leadership, sportsmanship, and community, is reflected in the spirit of this event. She dedicated her career to creating opportunities for student-athletes, building meaningful connections, and fostering a culture where individuals and teams could thrive while representing Bentley with integrity and purpose. More than a competition, the Cindy Scott Cup is a celebration of her enduring influence and a reminder that the greatest achievements come through teamwork, character, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Scott retired in July 2020 following 22 years as Bentley's Assistant Athletics Director. Among her many responsibilities during her two-plus decades with the Falcons were serving as the NCAA compliance coordinator, academic liaison, Senior Women's Administrator and Title IX Coordinator. She also served an advisor to Bentley's Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and coordinated recruiting efforts with the Office of Admissions.

"It has been such a tremendous privilege to work for Bentley Athletics for 22 years, and to be involved in many different aspects that provided me the  opportunity to help both coaches and student athletes," said Scott upon her retirement.

Scott came to Bentley in 1998 following a successful career as the women's basketball coach at Southern Illinois University.  She was inducted into the SIU Hall of Fame in 1994 and led the Salukis to 388 wins, three conference championships and four trips to the NCAA tournament.
