Sophomore Brittany Pandolph (Tewksbury/Tewksbury HS) and freshman Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) had the top finishes for the Bentley University women’s indoor track and field team which returned to action Sunday at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational at Harvard University. The meet was the team’s first in 43 days.

Freshmen Vanessa Wegner (Westborough/Westborough HS) and Tara Dooley (Lee/Lee HS) had the top performances for the Bentley University women’s indoor track team during Saturday’s Reggie Poyau Memorial Meet at Brandeis University.

Junior All-America Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS) and senior Natalie Caldwell (Greenbrae, Calif./Redwood HS) will serve as captains of the 2010-11 Bentley University women’s track and field team, coach Kevin Curtin announced.

Bentley University two-time All-America Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./ Lewis S. Mills HS) has been named to the 2011 Division II Track and Field All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). It’s the sixth academic award that the Falcon standout has received since January 1.

The 2011 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference team in women’s outdoor track include three Bentley University athletes: juniors Keisha Johnson (Randolph/Randolph HS) and Evelyn Marrero (Amsterdam, N.Y./Amsterdam HS), and sophomore All-America Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS).

Bentley University sophomore All-America Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./ Lewis S. Mills HS) has been selected to the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District 1 Women’s Track college division second team by the region’s sports information directors. Varsell was also one of five members of the Bentley track team recently named to the 2010-11 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track team. That list also included juniors Evelyn Marrero (Amsterdam, N.Y./Amsterdam HS) and Steven Long (Allston/Newton North HS) and sophomores John Drago (Avon, Conn./Avon HS) and Curtis Trueb (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester HS).

Just as she did indoors back in early March, Bentley University sophomore Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS) finished fourth in the 800 meters at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held Saturday night at California State University - Stanislaus.
