PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Four different players won both
their singles and doubles matches as Bentley University improved to
3-0 on Saturday with a 7-2 victory over Pace in Northeast-10
women's tennis play.
Senior Cheryl
Martin (Pittsfield, Mass./St. Joseph Central), juniors
Brittany
Harbert (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet) and Kara
Murphy (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) and sophomore
Katie Van
Gilst (Harwinton, Conn./Lewis S. Mills) were all
double winners for the Falcons.
Martin and Harbert combined to beat Gina Pittore and Danielle
Siddoti 8-3 in second doubles, and Murphy and Van Gilst topped
Danielle Gore and Carla Gross 9-7 in third doubles.
In addition to those four winning in singles, sophomore
Rachael
Litton (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) beat Liz
Plakhotnaya in second singles, 6-2, 6-2.
The Falcons are now 3-0 on the year both overall and in NE-10
play. Pace is 0-1.
Bentley returns to the courts on Wednesday to host New
Haven.
