MANCHESTER, N.H. - Southern New Hampshire won its 13th match in
a row with a 7-2 victory over the Bentley University women's tennis
team in Northeast-10 play on Tuesday afternoon. The Penmen improve
to 11-0 in the NE-10 and 14-1 overall, while the Falcons drop to
8-8 overall and 7-4 in the conference.
Southern New Hampshire won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches
but Bentley took the No. 3 match. Junior Cheryl
Martin (Pittsfield, Mass./St. Joseph Central) and
sophomore Brittany
Harbert (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet) defeated Sam Jean
and Kara Pease 8-6.
The Penmen took five of the six singles matches. Freshman
Rachael Litton (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) was
the only winner for Bentley, topping Alison Waring in No. 4 singles
6-4, 6-3.
Bentley is back at it Wednesday afternoon when they travel to
Saint Anselm for a 3:00 p.m. match.
