WALTHAM, Mass. - Bentley University closed out the 2009-10
regular season with a 6-3 victory over Merrimack on Saturday
afternoon in Northeast-10 women's tennis. The Falcons head into the
NE-10 Tournament with a mark of 10-8 overall and 9-4 in the
conference.
The Falcons took the second and third flights in doubles.
Sophomores Ellen Mader
(West Linn, Ore./Jesuit) and Kara Murphy
(Worcester, Pa./Methacton) beat Mollie Fitzgerald and
Kylie Waddington 8-2 and junior Cheryl
Martin (Pittsfield, Mass./St. Joseph Central)
and sophomore Brittany
Harbert (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet) topped Erin
McMahon and Courtney Garvey 8-3.
Bentley took the third through sixth flights in singles. Murphy,
freshman Rachael Litton (Burlington,
Ontario/Nelson), Martin and B. Harbert were the
winners.
The Falcons will find out their seeding and first round opponent
for the NE-10 Tournament at the conclusion of the regular season on
Sunday. The tournament begins on Wednesday, April 21.
