TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa won its second straight match Saturday, 7-2 over the Bentley University women's tennis team in non-conference play. The Spartans, ranked 40th in Division II, improve to 3-7 on the year while the Falcons drop to 5-7.
Bentley's points came from the team of junior Kara Murphy (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) and senior Aimee Tetu (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) in number two doubles, 8-5 winners over Megan Mancini and Maddie Caropino, and sophomore Katie Van Gilst (Harwinton, Conn./Lewis S. Mills) in number five singles, a 6-2, 7-5 victor over Victoria Simon.
With its spring break trip complete, Bentley returns to Northeast-10 play at home against Saint Anselm on March 26.
