SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Juniors Kara Murphy (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) and Brittany Harbert (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet) each won two matches as the Bentley University women's tennis team defeated Le Moyne 7-2 Sunday afternoon in a Northeast-10 matchup.

Murphy defeated Rebecca Black in number two singles 6-2, 6-1, and Harbert beat Elizabeth Rhode in number four singles 7-5, 6-0.

In doubles, Murphy teamed with senior Aimee Tetu (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) to knock off Rhode and Megan Andolina 8-1 in the second-flight, and Harbert and freshman Alyssa Hayes (Berlin, Conn./Berlin) got the better of Margaret Reagan and Kristine Kenny 8-6 in the third-flight.

Bentley's other winners came in singles. Sophomore Rachael Litton (Burlington, Ont./Nelson) defeated Kenny 6-1, 6-0 in the third-flight, sophomore Katie Van Gilst (Harwinton, Conn./Lewis S. Mills) beat Andolina 6-1, 6-0 in the fifth-flight and Tetu beat Kelly Falconer 6-0, 6-2 in the sixth-flight.

The Falcons are now 8-10 overall and 8-4 in the NE-10, while Le Moyne drops to 3-12 and 3-9. Bentley wraps up its regular season next Saturday at Merrimack.
