WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Amber Chandronnait, the 22nd-ranked singles player in Division II and top-ranked player in the East Region, helped Southern New Hampshire to an 8-1 road win against Bentley University in Northeast-10 women's tennis Sunday afternoon.
Chandronnait and senior Catalina Echeverry won in number one doubles, 8-2 over sophomores Paulina Sotomayor (San Antonio, Texas/Ronald Reagan) and Rachael Litton (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson). Chandronnait and Echeverry were also winners in singles.
Sophomore Katie Van Gilst (Harwinton, Conn./Lewis S. Mills) picked up Bentley's point, beating Kara Pease 7-6, 6-4 in number six singles.
The Penmen improve to 9-2 overall and stay perfect in conference play at 8-0. The Falcons go to 7-9 and 7-3. Their next match is Tuesday afternoon at home against Stonehill.
