Women's Tennis Drops Regular Season Finale to So. New Hampshire 7-2

WALTHAM, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire completed a perfect Northeast-10 regular season with a 7-2 victory over the Bentley women's tennis team on Saturday.

The Falcons complete the regular season with records of 9-8 overall and 8-4 in the NE-10. Having already clinched a spot in next week's Northeast-10 Championships, they will play a first round match on Tuesday. The Penmen will enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed after going 12-0 during the conference regular season.

Bentley earned both its points in doubles, winning the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. Seniors Rachael Litton (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) and Paulina Sotomayor (San Antonio, Texas/Ronald Reagan) took the No.2 match over Amanda Albuquerque and Yolanda Green, 9-7. Freshmen Catherine Gianino (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) and Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) got the best of Jamie Hann and Kirsten Jean in the No. 3 match, 8-6.

Southern won all six singles matches in straight sets.
