Southern New Hampshire Doubles Up Bentley 6-3

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Despite two wins in singles and one in doubles, the Bentley women's tennis team was doubled up by Southern New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon, 6-3 in a Northeast-10 match.

Bentley grabbed the No. 3 match in doubles as the team of Melanie Scott (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) and Lexie Hinrichs (Franklin, Mass./Ursuline Academy) defeated Allison Valentine and Yolanda Green 8-4. In singles, sophomore Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) defeated Jamie Hann in the No. 3 match, and sophomore Maria Ruiz (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Americas Bicultural School) bested Valentine in the No. 6 match, 6-2, 6-3.

The Penmen improve to 8-2 in the Northeast-10 with the victory, while Bentley drops to 6-3. The Falcons will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Saint Michael's.
