Bentley Improves to 6-1 in Northeast-10 by Beating AIC 5-3

WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior Melanie Scott (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) won two matches in helping the Bentley women's tennis team to a 5-3 victory over Northeast-10 rival American International on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons improve to 6-1 in NE-10 matches with the win.

The teams split doubles play after the No. 2 match was not played. Scott and sophomore Lexie Hinrichs (Franklin, Mass./Ursuline Academy) picked up Bentley's point in the No. 3 match, beating Romane Wilmotte and Jasmine Byrd 8-0.

Bentley then won the No. 3-No. 6 matches in singles to secure the overall victory. Scott defeated Wilmotte 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 5 match for her second victory over the day. Sophomore Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) rallied past Isabela Daudt in the No. 3 match, defeating her 2-6, 7-6, 6-1.

Bentley will be back in action on Sunday when they host Merrimack at 11:00 am.
