Bentley Splits Opening Weekend After Falling to Le Moyne 6-3

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University women's tennis team split its opening weekend of matches after falling to Le Moyne 6-3 in a Northeast-10 matchup Sunday afternoon. Bentley won the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles matches.

Le Moyne won the three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead into singles play. The Falcons were able to win three of the six singles matches, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit.

Junior Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner in the No. 3 match over Christina Perry. Sophomore Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) was victorious in the No. 4 match after taking the first set in a tiebreak, and was a 7-6 (7-1) 6-3 winner over Dominique Canale. Sophomore Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) defeated Autumn Hogan 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 6 match.

The Falcons, now 1-1 on the season, are right back in action on Tuesday afternoon at Assumption.
