WORCESTER, Mass. – The Bentley women's tennis team played its first road match of the 2014 fall season on Tuesday, but suffered a 7-2 setback to Northeast-10 rival Assumption.

The Falcons' two points came in singles. Sophomore Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn.) picked up a three set victory over Marie Black in the No. 4 match, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4. Senior Melanie Scott (Southbury, Conn.) was the other winner in the No. 5 match, defeating Maggie Holland 6-4, 1-6, 10-5.

The win improves Assumption's record to 1-2 in Northeast-10 play on the young season, while Bentley's record is now 1-2 as well. The Falcons are back in action on Saturday when they host Saint Michael's for the first of two home matches over the weekend.
