Bentley Sweeps Past Franklin Pierce 9-0

RINDGE, N.H. – The Bentley women's tennis team cruised past Franklin Pierce 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon in Northeast-10 play. Three different players won two matches for the Falcons.

Bentley dropped just four games in winning all three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) and Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) were 8-2 winners.

The Falcons dropped just nine games combined in their six singles wins. Yamus lost just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No. 1 match. Senior Catherine Gianino (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) in the No. 2 match, and sophomore Alexa Petruzziello (North Haven, Conn./North Haven), in the No. 4 match, both only dropped one game as well.

Gianino and sophomore Olivia von Oldenburg (Austin, Texas/Vandegrift) were the other double winners along with Yamus, after von Oldenburg was a 6-2, 6-2 winner in the No. 3 match.

The Falcons will look to improve to 2-1 when they visit Saint Anselm tomorrow afternoon.
