Women's Tennis Rolls Past New Haven 8-1

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley earned a split of its weekend matches by hammering New Haven on Sunday by an 8-1 score in a Northeast-10 women's tennis match. Both Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) and Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) were double winners on the day.

Yamus and Petrini teamed to win the No. 1 doubles match, 8-2 over Angelica Pecci and Ashley Varrone. Yamus then won her No. 1 singles match, 6-1, 6-3 over Alexandra Sharshakov, while Petrini won the No. 4 singles match over Varrone 6-0, 6-1.  

In other singles action, Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) cruised past Kristen McCormick 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 3 match. Sophomore Jill Kamphaus (Walpole, Mass./Ursuline Academy) likewise had little trouble besting Caitlyn Burridge in the No. 6 match, 6-0, 6-1.

The Falcons improve to 4-2 both overall and in NE-10 play. They return to the courts on Tuesday when they host AIC at 3:00 pm.
