St. Cloud State Slips Past Bentley 5-4 in Florida

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Bentley women's tennis team got its spring break trip started on Monday against St. Cloud State and suffered a narrow 5-4 defeat to the Huskies, who took two of three doubles matches and split the singles matches.

Bentley's win in doubles came in the No. 3 match from the team of Lexie Hinrichs (Franklin, Mass./Ursuline Academy) and Olivia von Oldenburg (Austin, Texas/Vandegrift) by an 8-6 score.

In singles, Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills), Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon) and Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) were the winners for the Falcons. Yamus won the No. 1 match 7-5, 6-3, while Hetyei took the No. 3 match. Stowe was a 6-4, 7-5 winner in the No. 6 spot.

Now 8-9 on the season, Bentley continues its spring break trip on Wednesday against Bluefield State.
