Bentley Drops 7-2 Decision to Div. I Holy Cross

WALTHAM, Mass. – Taking on a Division I opponent for the second time this season in Holy Cross, Bentley dropped a 7-2 decision to the Crusaders in a non-conference women's tennis match on Saturday.

Holy Cross swept doubles play, but Bentley was able to take two of the six singles matches in the No. 3 and No. 6 spots. Senior Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) dropped just two games in the No. 3 match, winning it 6-1, 6-1. While junior Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) dropped just four games, winning her match 6-2, 6-2.

Bentley kept it close in two doubles matches. In the No. 1 match, Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) and Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) fell just 9-7, and Corrie MacLean (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) and Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) were knocked back just 8-6 in the No. 3 match.

Now 10-11 overall on the season, Bentley returns to the courts on Tuesday at Endicott.
