Bentley Splits on First Day of Spring Break Trip

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University women's tennis team played a pair of matches with a split squad on Sunday, its first day of its annual Florida spring break trip. One set of Falcons defeated Webber International 7-0, but the other dropped a 9-0 decision to Tampa University.

In the win over Webber, the Falcons were led by sophomore Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington), who posted wins in both No. 1 singles and doubles. However, Fabianski was one of just four players to win twice in the match.

Junior Rachel Hui (Hong Kong/St. Rose of Lima's) teamed with Fabianski in No. 1 doubles, while she also won the No. singles match. Tiffany Suchanek (Waterville, Maine/Waterville) and Corrie MacLean (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) combined for a victory in No. 2 doubles, while also winning the No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches, respectively. Senior Kayla Anghinetti (Seekonk, Mass./Bishop Feehan) also swept to a 6-1, 6-0 victory in No. 5 singles.

With the split results, Bentley's record to went 10-6 on the season. The full squad is back in action tomorrow when they take on Southwest Minnesota State in Orlando.
