Worcester, Mass. – Sophomore Evann Welty (Wayzata, Minn./Mount Westonka) won her singles match, but Bentley fell to Northeast-10 rival Assumption 6-1 on Wednesday.

Welty was a 7-6, 6-2 winner over senior Paige Benoit in the No. 2 match, but the Greyhounds won the other singles matches to build on the point they won in doubles. The win improved Welty's singles record to 5-3 on the season, and was her fourth win out of the last five.

The Greyhounds improved to 4-2 overall and 3-2 NE10 with the victory. Bentley's next match is next Tuesday October 9^th at Adelphi.
