Suchanek Wins Twice as Bentley Bests Holy Cross 4-3

WALTHAM, Mass. - Sophomore Tiffany Suchanek (Waterville, Maine/Waterville) won in both singles and doubles to lead the Bentley women's tennis team to a 4-3 victory over Division I Holy Cross on Sunday afternoon.

Suchanek was one of four winners in singles for the Falcons, which helped them overcome Holy Cross claiming the doubles point.

Suchanek, along with Rachel Hui (Hong Kong), Evann Welty (Wayzata, Minn./Mound Westonka) and Olivia von Oldenburg (Austin, Texas/Vandegrift) won in singles. Suchanek won in No. 3 over Katie Elia by an 8-5 score. Hui topped Allison Reiling 8-5 in the No. 1 match. Welty doubled up Katya Martin 8-4 in the No. 2 match, while von Oldenburg defeated Morgan McGuire 8-5 in No. 4.

In doubles, Suchanek combined with Corrie MacLean (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) for an 8-5 victory over Elia and Martin in No. 2.

The win is the Falcons' 14th of the season, which puts them one away from tying last season's program record of 15 wins in a season. They face Simmons on Thursday and Endicott at home on Sunday to close out the regular season.
