Women's Tennis Opens Season at Holy Cross Doubles Invite

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Bentley women's tennis team began its 2018-19 season with the Holy Cross Doubles Invitiational at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility in Worcester, Mass on Saturday. Four other teams joined Bentley and the host Crusaders; NE10 rivals Merrimack, Assumption and Franklin Pierce, along with Nichols.

Bentley entered two teams, senior Hannah Fabainski (Stonington, Conn./Pawcatuck) and Katie Tynan (West Barnstable, Mass./Barnstable), and senior Tiffany Suchanek (Waterville, Maine/Waterville) and sophomore Evann Welty (Wayzata, Minn./Mound Westonka).

Competing in the No. 1 flight, Fabaniski and Tynan were 8-6 winners over Holy Cross, while they dropped matches to Assumption and Merrimack. Welty and Suchanek competed in the No. 2 flight and defeated Holy Cross 8-2, while they dropped matches to Nichols and Assumption.

Up next, the Falcons will play their first dual match of the season, a non-conference tilt at home against Roger Williams on Tuesday, before they open NE10 play next Saturday at New Haven.
