Bentley Felled by Merrimack, 5-2

WALTHAM, Mass. – Merrimack stayed unbeaten in the Northeast-10 with a 5-2 victory over hosts Bentley University in Northeast-10 women's tennis on Monday afternoon.

The Warriors won all three doubles matches to take the doubles point, then won four of six in singles to secure the victory and improve to 4-0 in NE10 matches so far this season.

Bentley's points came from the top two singles matches, captain Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) in the No. 1 position, and Evann Welty (Wayzata, Minn./Mound Westonka) in No. 2.

Fabianski won a three setter over Mana Seifaei. They split the first two sets, with Fabianski taking the first set 6-3, and Seifaei the second set 6-4, before Fabianski emerged in the third set tiebreak for the victory, 10-8. Welty won a three setter as well, over Lauren Persson, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7.

The Falcons will now play the second of their three home matches this week on Wednesday, when they host Saint Michael's for a 3:00 pm start.
