Worcester, Mass. - Freshman Alessa Matuty (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) won in both singles and doubles as the Bentley women's tennis team took on Division I Holy Cross on Sunday, but the Crusaders came away with the match 5-2. Senior Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn/Stonington) also won in singles for the Falcons.

Matuty and sophomore Evann Welty (Wayzata, Minn./Mound Westonka.) took the No.2 doubles match over Sophia Papa and Morgan McGuire by a 7-5 score. The Crusaders, however, took the No. 1 and No. 3 matches to win the doubles point.

In singles, the Falcons saw wins from Matuty and senior captain Fabianski. Fabianski won in the No. 1 position, with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Allison Reiling. Matuty's second victory of the day came via a 6-0, 7-5 win over Papa in the No. 3 position.

Both Fabianski and Matuty improved to 3-1 in singles this spring with their wins.

Bentley will continue its spring season on Friday when they visit Nichols, before home matches against Endicott on April 17 and Curry on the 19th.
