Hiraldo Wins in Singles but Bentley Falls to Brandeis in Spring Opener

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore Adriana Hiraldo (San Juan, Puerto Rico) won in singles but the Bentley women's tennis team fell to cross-town rival Brandeis 6-1 on Friday afternoon in their first match of the spring season.

Hiraldo won in the No. 3 match, 6-1, 6-4 over Brandeis' Ana Hatfield.

Also competing in singles for Bentley on the day was Makena Romagnano (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) in No. 1, Maria Mella (Santo Domingo, D.R.) in No. 2, Remi LeSage (Sarasota, Fla./IMG) in No. 4, Zoe Chin (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) in No. 5 and Alyssa Cook (New Castle, N.H./Portsmouth) in No. 6.

Brandeis had taken a 1-0 lead in the match by winning the doubles portion.

Next up for Bentley (4-7) is the start of its spring break trip in Florida The first match is on Monday against Rollins College at 11:00 am
